Comments:
Hi, My father served in the bombardments runs during the North Korea Conflict.
Like many has numerous medals. However something else he has, he kept tons of
documents of rosters with names and names and names of the combat companions
serving with them, their ranks and even mission. Each document has US embedded
seal. That said I see government still argues that this time period all the
documents got burned that they kept, so wondering where should we start loading
the ones that people like my father Lt. Calvin C. Smith kept?

Looking for information about a cousin...Airman First Class Walter E. Pendrak,
from Amsterdam New York, he was removing film from an aircraft or drying line and
fell. I believe this would have been between Thanksgiving and Christmas 1952. Any
info appreciated. Thanks!

My dad was there, serving in the air force. His name was Dave Phelps, he was
from Salem Oregon. He was 5’8” brown hair and blue eyes. He mentioned
something about a Bomb that was tested and a bit of a tsunami that test
created. He also mentioned he helped wash aircraft which were likely
contaminated- may have contributed to the leukemia from which he recently
died.

Father-

together a
little history for his daughters and grand kids.

I was stationed at Kwajalein Island with the 1502 Support
Sqd, MATS, out of Hickam. I serviced all transit aircraft
on there way east and west, even B-26 going to French Indo-
China. B-29's on the way to Korea and some commercial AA. I
was there during Operation IVY, and at one time we had so
many AC on the island I thought it would sink. A B-36 (was
to drop an atomic bomb at Eniwetok (sp)), a sqd of old
F-84s, a B-47, B-29,weather sqd,,\Nave P2V's and many many
more......left the island in late 1953. A time of great
memories and buddies, will never forget the time spent
there, a place where the wind never stopped blowing....CKH

We flew in with the 509th Bomb Wing, Field Maintenance
Squadron for Operation "IVY" mike shot. Lived in squad
tents, ate at the Navy mess (*first I ever ate steak &
beans for breakfast.) In off time use to swim at
the "swimming hole" that had been blasted out on the coral
shelf. Not many of us still around. We were stationed at
Walker AFB in Roswell, NM. Additional e-mail is
