I was stationed at Itazuke 1960-63, and had family quarters at Hakata Annex, sometimes referred to as Brady. When I got there, there were still some signs of Brady, and of course the recreation Beach was still known as 'Brady Beach'. I had a good friend there as a Parachute rigger 1951-52, but have not heard from him since 1955. As for the 344th. We had a 344th Bomb Squadron at Yokota, Japan in the 98th Bomb Group 1950-54 and sometimes when just 344th was mentioned, there was some confusion(~_~). There is a 344th Air Refueling Sq. now on active duty, but their heritage goes back to the 344th Bomb Sq. I remember the C-46 and sometimes flew on them when Air America was flying them.
