I arrived, in Tokyo in November 1954. AFSC 70520, Admin Clerk. Worked for General B.O.Davis, Jr. I lived in the Old Kiajo Building on 7th floor, I think.
I was in Tokyo for 18 months and except for missing my wife and son really enjoyed. Too many years ago to remember much.
Keep in touch.
God Bless America

After graduating from the USAF Intelligence School at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver in 1951 I returned to my home base, Craig Air Force Base at Selma, Alabama which had previously been part of the Air University, as the NCOIC of Base Intelligence for a couple of months and was then transferred to Headquarters, Far East Air Force in downtown Tokyo (across the moat from the Imperial Palace) and initially assigned with several other noncoms to update our Intelligence Library then transferred to Evasion & Escape with the responsibility of locating POW Camps in North Korea and determine which were real and which were phony created to discourage us from bombing the adjacent military targets. Ultimately, I was offered a GS 12 to extend my tour of duty in Japan as a civilian with Evasion and Escape but declined because I wanted to return home to continue my education and was transferred to a super secret unit called Supplemental Research as the NCOIC working with the Air Force Security Service and the CIA who provided the FEAF Commanding General with the same briefing giving to the President each day until my return home in the summer of 1954 with my wife who had come to Tokyo in August of 1952 to marry me. I did receive the Air Force Accommodation Award for my work in the three Intelligence Units at Hq FEAF and regret I did not accept the GS-12 offer as I enjoyed working in Intelligence and could have finished college in the service instead of returning to Fresno State to get my BA with my new major in Broadcast Journalism only to go into management with a major insurance company and would like to hear from any of my old buddies.
