Comments:

Fresh out of Basic Training at Sampson AFB in June 1952, I
traveled across country by train to Amarillo, Texas.

Arrived at the AFB Tech School to take courses in Gen. Jet
Aircraft Mechanics. We were housed in new barracks, marched
to and from our classes and graduated from the school in
about twelve weeks.

QUESTION? ARE THERE ANY AIR FORCE VETS OUT THERE WHO TOOK TRAINING AT THIS
TECH SCHOOL DURING THIS TIME FRAME?

Send e-mail if so. I was amazed by this area of Texas; it was so flat. You
could see for miles in all directions.

While I was there, I visited Palo Dura Canyon, where many Hollywood Western
movies were shot. From Amarillo AFB, my tour in the Air Force took me to
Turner AFB, K-13 AFB, Korea and Tyndall AFB.
