My uncle was in a jet crash on Panther mountain on nov.26,1957 that left
Stewart ABF. Trying to find fighter interceptor squadron he was in. Maybe
some pictures? I believe he was in an F-89 all weather interceptor.

Just noticed this blog. I was assigned to Steward AFB in
December, 1956 to supervise the MARS station. At the same
time, i was working on getting my 'early out' to return to
school so i was quite busy so i asked the A/2C if he needed
any help and he told me that he had everything under control
so i actually visited the station only once, took my
accumulated leave and was ushered out of the Air Force on
January 20th, 1957. The USAF assigned me to Steward at my
request after spending the prior 2 years serving in Asia.
