I'm seeking information about the 1st detachment of the 22nd crash rescue boat squadron based in Okinawa in 1951. My grandfather Alfred Jardim served with this unit to my knowledge, i have an album of pictures of crew standing around a sign that read that, as well as numerous photos of the island of Okinawa. I'm having little luck short of a visit to the national archives to find out information about the 22nd in Okinawa. At some point in his military career, he was awarded a bronze star i'm hoping to find out some information that might lead to how he had received the award. thanks for any help, Peter
