FACTS ABOUT 1ST MARINE MP DIV |
| THOMAS BUCKLEY wrote on February 10, 2003 City and State: EFFORT PA Unit: 1ST MARINE MP DIVISION Service or Relationship: - Comments: While I was in Vietnam in 1969 in Danang, I served with the 1st marine mp div for three months. I'm looking to find more info about the unit. Aparrently the Veterans Administration considers the unit just a guard unit. While I served with the unit, I felt it was much more then that. Could someone fill me in on the purpose of the unit in Vietnam during the war. I was looking through some old papers and my discharge papers and it failed to mention any time with that unit. I feel that going on sweeps in Vietnames villages in the middle of the night was a lot more then guard duty. Thank you for any feed back you can offer. Thanks Tom Keywords: 1st Marine MP div in Vietnam 1969 |
