Comments: Was in the 11th marines when the truce was signed-Was transfered out the next week to the DMZ Police- They were still drawing there gear and the tents was just getting put up-We were on the line when the UN guys were marking the 38th.Par.Ten of us were sent to Panmunjon for a week for the prisoner exchange-It was good duty, better than cannon cocking. I was in the 29th draft and was rotated home in Jan.54

Comments: While I was in Vietnam in 1969 in Danang, I served with the 1st marine mp div for three months. I'm looking to find more info about the unit. Aparrently the Veterans Administration considers the unit just a guard unit. While I served with the unit, I felt it was much more then that. Could someone fill me in on the purpose of the unit in Vietnam during the war. I was looking through some old papers and my discharge papers and it failed to mention any time with that unit. I feel that going on sweeps in Vietnames villages in the middle of the night was a lot more then guard duty. Thank you for any feed back you can offer. Thanks Tom

Comments: The only battles we ever won were the fights that we had with the 24th Army Division people who took over our little compound near Paju-Ri as the Division Returned home in 3 waves. I was last wave out.

He had 2 group pictures that were ruined in a flooded basement and never got a chance to get copies so this is why i am writing to see if there are any copies out there.
