Also "The 315th Air Divison's first major maneuver with the 187th Regimental Combat Team was the hurried airlift of its personnel, vehicles and equipment to Kimpo immediately after the arrival of airborne unit in the Far East in October, 1950. From that time on, the 315th Air Division has been allied with the 187 RCT in a unique Air Force-Army relationship which has been closer than any other partnership in military history." I would guess the 315th was the planning laison for drop supplies for the army, and the one that gave the drop orders to the 483rd Wing, 314th Group down to the squadrons. Hope this helps.
