I am looking for information on my uncle who was a POW in the Korean
war and never came home. How do I ask for files from the government
that contain info on PFC Orvill Linebaugh, July 27, 1950?

He was last seen on a train and was there, but not gunned down in the
"Sunchon Tunnel Massacre". It is believed he went to a POW camp on
the Yalu River or possibly to Manchuria.

Thank you

Writing a book on POW experiences in the first months--Jun to Oct
1950. Appreciate any contacts/sources of information, especially from
anyone who survived the Sunchon Tunnel Massacre.

I am retired military from the Vietnam era. My dad was the senior
officer among 376 POWs of which only 43 survived. He was murdered on
20 Oct 50 before the 187th could jump in on the train carrying the
POWs north.

He was the S-3 of the 34 Regmt of the 24 ID before his capture. He was
bringing up the rear in the evacuation of Taejon for Gen Dean.

Dean's aide Lt Tabor was with my dad on the death march from Seoul to
Pyongyang. Tabor died during the march when some US Marines strafed the
column. Again, more contacts will allow me to flesh out the story.

I have most of the facts, but need several personal experiences to give
the book greater vividness.

Take care,
