CV-37 Reunion

Today while showing my dad the way I search the net, we tried a search
on the USS Princeton (of his time).

As he sits here beside me, he is telling me of his time on the
Princeton. I did all of my time on CV-66. Any way, he just returned
from a re-union CV-37, LPH-5 in Las Vegas.

The convention went for 3 days. He met a lot of his old crew mates
including plank owners. And some who were on till it was re-designated
to LPH-5. A good time was had by all!

CAG 19

I am a Korean War vet. I was a naval aviator, 1950-53, CAG 19
(USS Princeton CV-37). Good Lord, was it really 43 years ago! I am
always saddened when I realize that "our war" has been relegated to
a dusty sidelight of history. Nothing ever mentioned.

BM3 Edward Burge. The proceeding arose after the theft of a peacoat
while the carrier was on the west coast.

Any information regarding this incident at all would be appreciated.

Please respond to my e-mail address.

Thanks in advance,

How well I remember the first time I saw that big 37 standing tall on a
foggy night in the Bremerton Naval Yards in 1950. Fresh out of boot camp
in San Diego I was making my way to my assigned compartment with sea bag
on my shoulder.

I was starting through a hatch when I meet none other than the
ex-officer in a big hurry. He bounced off my sea bag and in getting up
he apologized. Thats when I realized I was aboard the best ship in the
fleet. Looking forward to hearing from you.
