I did two tours onboard between 1951 and 1953.We operated on both the
east and west coast of Korea.
I was on a kiddie cruise. I came aboard as a Seaman Apprentice out of
Sonar School and was discharged ar an SO2 in 1953.
I have a vague memory of a BOB BLACOCK. I spent a lot of time
in the radio shack as that was where I learned to type.
I joined the National Guard (Staff Sgt.) for three years after I was
discharged and then in late 1956 I Joined the Naval Reserve and went on
active duty. I transfered into the regular Navy in 1959 and retired as a
Master Chief Sonar Tech in 1974.
I currently live in Louisville KY. Hope to hear from you.
Finally those who made the supreme sacrifice in defense
of liberty have been recognized. It is about time.
