Sea School Marine
From: Mary_Lawson@prenhall.comDate: Tue, 30 Apr 96
My father, GSgt. George W. Lawson (USMC ret.), is a veteran of the
Korean War. He was a Sea School Marine and served aboard the USS
Boxer during the Inchon invasion and at least one other tour to Korea.
When I told him about the search capabilities available through your
site, he asked if I could post a notice re: Roy M. Haley .
Sgt. Haley (serial number 1071611) also served aboard the Boxer during
the war and was best man at my parent's wedding (Jan. 12, 1951 - Alameda
Naval Base - my mother's maiden name is Doris Mattocks). They lost touch
during the sixties.
Currently there is no listing for the USS Boxer under the Naval
listings in the "Looking For" section. There is also no way to search
for Marines who served aboard ship. Is it possible to add these?
I can be reached at:
mary_lawson@prenhall.com
if you need any more information.
Thank you for providing this web site. My folks are driving back east
in May and we're planning on visiting the memorial.

I am looking for information for a co-worker of mine that served on the
USS Boxer from 1951 - 1955. He is experiencing health problems aand his
doctors feel he was exposed to a large amount of radiation. He is
interested in finding others who served on the Boxer during this time or
anyone who is knowledgeable of this ship.
Any information you can provide will be appreciated.

and has become very involved with his ship mates. He would like to offer
this book to someone who would enjoy having it. Either re-mail me or
you can call him direct.
