Cruise Books
Ted,
My Father, Jimmie F. Locklear served onboard the USS BADOENG STRAIT,
CVE-116 from 1951-1953. He has several cruise books and quite a few sea
stories.
Anyone with interest can e-mail me at: locklear@mich.com
My Father also served at Naval Base Guam (Apra Harbor) 1953-54.

Hi, Ted.
I'm looking for information on the USS Badoeng Strait during the
period from 1953-1956. If you can direct me toward any information,
I'd appreciate it. My father served aboard the ship during this period

My father in-law, Bill Baughman served aboard the ship during this
period.
He is trying to locate two ship mates, JH Engle (Toad), and BV Scott
(Scotty). I am looking for any information that might be available to
help locate them or other members of the crew.
Thanks,
Peter Burke

Cannot seem to find a history or war record regarding the Badoeng
Straits. I served aboard her from April 1950 to May 1952.
I was in charge of the Aviation Electronics shop as an AT-2.

Hi!
My step-father, E. Paul McGee, served aboard this ship during the Korean
War as a pilot. He flew an F4U Corsair. He is now deceased and I would
like to know if anyone knew him or if I could find out about the ship's
role during the war.
I am now an active duty Infantry Officer in the Army and he did not
talk about it that often. I know so little about what he did and regret
never finding out. Can you help me?
Thanks.
