At the invasion of Inchon, in September of 1950, 37 of the 47 LST's were Japanese. When the 1st Marines went from Inchon to land at Wonsan, North Korea the fleet of LST's were mostly Japanese. I believe the one my unit sailed on was the "Q-86" and it had a 100% Japanese crew. On another LST that my unit sailed on (short trip) from Kojo, North Korea back to Wonsan, North Korea they locked the enlisted men in my unit in the tank-deck and wouldn't let us see the crew. If a true history of the Korean War is to be recorded, the Japanese should be given full credited for all the contributions they made to the Korean War.
