I am uncertain concerning the unit designation of our Aviation Company. My impression is that it was attached to Division Hqs. I know that the aviators and maintenance personnel were assigned directly to the unit. The "back seaters" or observers initially all served as forward observers on the line and then some were either attached to the unit or were reassigned. I think our designation was 7th Infantry Division Air Section, but am not sure. Thanks
