I am writing for my father who has been searching for many years to
find out what happened to the 3 people in his tank when it was blown
up.

The date was July 10, 1950 between Osan and Choichowan. He was assigned
to 24th Division, Company A, 78th Tank Battalion. He was the last man
out of the tank before it exploded and has never been able to find out
what happened to the other 3. They are:

Staff Sgt. Bridges
Pfc. Tolanto
Cpl. Anthony Lasome

We have searched databases but with no luck at all. Any help we would
really appreciate. At the time of this my father was Cpl.John E. Glass.

Thank you,
John E. Glass Jr.

I was in the 78th. Tank Battalion, 24th. Division. I was stationed in
Japan at the start of the war.One of the first units sent to Korea.

Was wounded in action July, 1950 North of Tajon.

I was in Tokyo General Hospital Annex. and was sent back to Korea after
General McArthur took over. The difference was like night and day. The
Unit I was in was Company "A" 78th Heavy Tank Battalion located at
Yamaguchi , Japan. That was the only company in the whole Battalion and
after a period of time it was done away with. It consisted of M-24 Light
tanks.

When I returned to Korea I went back to the 78th. Bn. At a point of time
later the 78th. was de-activated for awhile. I was sent to the 6th. Tank
Bn. that had arrived from the States. Then the 78th was activated again
and I went back with them.

At the last end of my tour I vaguely remember being with the 21st Inf.
When I left Korea my rank was Cpl. If anyone wants to contact me who
was in the 78th., they can e-mail me.
