I was stationed in Japan at the start of the war.One of the first units sent to Korea. Was wounded in action July, 1950 North of Tajon. I was in Tokyo General Hospital Annex. and was sent back to Korea after General McArthur took over. The difference was like night and day. The Unit I was in was Company "A" 78th Heavy Tank Battalion located at Yamaguchi , Japan. That was the only company in the whole Battalion and after a period of time it was done away with. It consisted of M-24 Light tanks. When I returned to Korea I went back to the 78th. Bn. At a point of time later the 78th. was de-activated for awhile. I was sent to the 6th. Tank Bn. that had arrived from the States. Then the 78th was activated again and I went back with them. At the last end of my tour I vaguely remember being with the 21st Inf. When I left Korea my rank was Cpl. If anyone wants to contact me who was in the 78th., they can e-mail me.
