I was assinged to the 724th Ord maint company, which should be added to the list of div units, a part of the div like all others. We landed korea very early july 1950 off of a lst all japanese crewed,on a beach somewhere around pusan??moved to tejon, set up defence around airport. then made the pullback with the restof the division. I was assigned to the 5th RCT after they were assigned to the 24th div. I was with them before the break out. I read we were assigned to the 1st cav for a few days, then onto the chinese border, most of the movement was either unknown to me or the places and times i read about some 48years later. one interesting point, i met my brother, he was in the engineers that sand bagging a crossing on the kumho river,we were being shelled at time, so we took refuge in hole that atank dozer dug for the sand bags. I never seen nor talked to him ever again, he was killed stateside later. I would like to know the engineer outfit name, number that was there at the time we had the 3rd eng comb bn in the div but they were not the unit in position at that time. I stayed with the 5th RCT until the chinese pushed us back into so korea. I have never seen or talked to anyone in any of the units that i was in for all these years. I will be 68 years old may 10 1998. thanks former SFC Harold D Barber,,RA16246773,, P MOS 1505,,,,, Email..kg0wz@worldnet.att.net... the kg0wz is my amatuer radio call sign.
