My father is a Korea vet--1950. He was with the 48th field artillery,
32nd infantry, 7th division. I just happened on the Project Web page.

We missed the memorial dedication because my mother became very ill.
We had intended to attend as a family. In the end, only my brother got there
and only for the parade on Saturday.

I have a couple of interests/questions. I'm looking forward to the page on veterans
groups getting more fully developed, for one thing. We'd be very interested in
anything you have on Ohio. My other great interest has
to do with history. I am concerned about the need to get memories and
oral histories recorded quickly before we lose our eyewitnesses! What
sort of projects are underway?

---update from Carol---on 9/30/96------

Her Dad has joined a Chosen Few Chapter and finally met
vets from that fateful period of time.

My Father is a Korean War Vet. I know he would find this Project of great
interest. He kept thoughts and memories of the war to himself it seems until
just a couple years ago when he decided it was time to tell his story. It is
truly an amazing story. How he survived is a miracle I think.

He was a Forward Observer with the 7th Inf Div, 47th Field Artillery,
Battery A. He arrived in Korea in August of 1952. (on the Line at the
38th parallel near the Chorwan Valley.

He was awarded the Silver & Bronze Star, & Two Purple Hearts. He later
became 7th Infantry Division COG ,General Wayne C. Smith's Aide de Camp.
