Very interested in viewing buddies with e-mail addresses. Hope
to communicate with some. One of my school buddies, Rex McGugin
was in the Signal Company, along with a cousin of mine, Roy Mahaffey.
The article that I read in the 45th Division News was written by
George T. Nolan.
I was mobilized with them on September 16, 1940 for a years
training.....5.5 years later discharged.
I was still eager and when the unit was reorganized I was there. We
made a few summer drills and was called into service again in
September, I think 1950. At any rate we sailed out of New Orleans
in March during the celebration, through the Panama Canal, to Frisco,
and on to Hokkaido (the north island of Japan).
Then into Korea with the advanced unit on Thanksgiving Day. Again
my unit HQ 189 FA BN.

I served with 45th Signal Co from Sept. l950 till Sept l952. Joined
the unit at Fort Polk La. in July l950 and left the unit in late
August 1952 while it was still in Korea.
Would like to hear from any former members of the unit. I am member
of 45th Inf. Div.Assn. and plan to attend the reunion in Okla City, in
September. I served as teletype operator at both 180th and 179th
regts while in Korea.
I have obtained current roster of all 45th Co. members who were
in attendance at last 45th Signal Co. reunion held in Alva, Okla.
in August 1996, which has been updated with current names and mailing
addresses, and we would certanly like to get this roster posted on
the "Looking For" page if you could handle this for us.

a Kurtz, was trained to be a movie camera man but we never got a movie
camera.
