I was in "Noonday Able" in 1951, which company was under the command of
Capt. Kmizinski (approximately).

Although a handful of us were Regular Army, the battalion was from the
Pennsylvania National Guard and at that time most officers and men were
NG. Being from Pennsylvania, the battalion had a great many Germans and
Poles in it.

For example, the Chief Gunnery Sergeant was a Sgt. Schott, a real
Prussian-style drill master! We were 1st Corps artillery, along with
"Neverdie", a 155 self propelled outfit, and "River," a Korean 105
split-trail battalion.

Specifically, we were assigned in support of the 12th and 15th ROK Inf
regiments of the 1st ROK division. We all wore 1st ROK shoulder patches.

Would like to hear from others who served in Noonday during the Korean War.

Hi.

My father served in the 176th AFA BN from July 1952 - April 1953.
he is interested in an info you might have about members of this group.

He was in Headquarters battery but served in the FSCC as a radio
advisor to the Koreans. His full name is Alan Burl Caudle. His serial
number was RA18410630. He served with a Sgt. Martins,
Maj. Guzeman, and a Lt. Bailey... and later, a Lt. Rosenboon.

Any info about this group is appreciated.

I was transferred to the 176th in mid summer of 1952 assgnd to HQ Bttry
as radio repairman. Was called 'Pops' by the radio operators as I was
the old guy in the group (almost 22). Rotated out in mid March of 1953.

The 176th was a fine outfit and I'm proud to have served with that
outfit and the group of men who were part of it
