Comments: Private Weir was a member of the 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on September 23, 1950. According to Wilma Felton-Gray, he will be remembered as the "Captain who became a Private." He was a Captain in World War II in the 31st Engineers but enlisted in the Korean War and did not take the rank held in WW II. Guilford and Sidney, New York. He was originally from Coomer, Wisconsin, and later settled in New York.
