Comments: First Lieutenant Stover was a veteran of World War II, wounded during the liberation of Saipan. In Korea, he was a platoon leader in Company C, 1st Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On October 16, 1952, he led his platoon in the attack of "Triangle Hill". When his unit became bogged down from enemy fire, he singlehandedly assaulted an enemy machine gun nest with hand grenades, before being killed by enemy fire.
