Comments: USMA Class of 1946, First Lieutenant Spellman commanded Company B, 1st Battalion, 187th Airborne Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Chechon, South Korea on February 4, 1951 by enemy sniper fire. His friends knew him as "Dave." Originally from Washington state.
