He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on April 17, 1953 and returned to duty on April 20, 1953. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on July 23, 1953. Some reports cite July 24, 1953.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Simpson of Merigold, Mississippi.
