Comments: Private First Class Meyer was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on or about December 2, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. DOD records cite December 12, 1950, as date of loss, but due to the internal chaos within the unit due to high losses, it is impossible without eyewitness confirmation to have a specific date of actual loss. By December 12, 1950, the unit was in reserve in the Hamhung-Hungnam area. He was known as "Sonny." His remains were repatriated and buried in April of 2008. Reported DOD Last known home of record - Wahpeton, North Dakota.
Son of Joseph Meyer and Clara L. Meyer.

Final Disposition Date: December 12, 1950
Korean War Project Key No: 20159
