Comments: Private First Class Littleton was a member of Battery I, 3rd Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division. On April 22, 1951, he was serving as a forward observer with Company C, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. As his forward observer team moved into a position to direct artillery fire on the enemy, an enemy grenade fell into the area. He hurled himself on the grenade to protect his comrades. His family was originally from Arkansas. His family moved to South Dakota and to Idaho in June, 1950. His family identifies his home as Idaho.
Son of Paul Littleton and Maude Littleton of Nampa, Idaho. Brother of Charles, M.K., and Mary Littleton
