Comments: USMA Class of 1952, Second Lieutenant Inman was a member of the Heavy Mortar Company, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On July 7, 1953, during night operations at Pork Chop Hill, North Korea, he and his patrol were cut off by the enemy. On the third attempt to breach through superior enemy forces, he provided protective fire for his men until he was mortally wounded by an enemy grenade. He was a letterman on the 1951 Army football team. He was known as "Dick."
