Comments: Does anyone remember my father, Bob Smith, former Sgt. USMC serial number: 1126181 ?
He spent two winters at the Chosin Reservoir around 1952-1953. He was originally from Quincy, Massachusetts. He was assigned to Hingham, Massachusetts upon returning from Korea prior to discharge. While at the Chosin he became good friends with another marine, Bill Doyle, from Dorchester, Massachusetts. Bill was there first. When Bill learned that another marine was arriving and from Quincy, MA; he was there to greet him. They were good friends from then on.
