Comments: I remember my husband Gerald Lester, Jerry, Craig talking about the doctor whose face was cut off by the rotor among lots of other stories.
I am looking for anyone who might remember him and stories about him for the family history I am making for our kids. Jerry was on the Haven from 1951 through August 1955. One of his friends there was Don Turnipseed .
Jerry died on April 29, 1986 of cancer in Port Townsend, WA.

Sincerely,
Althea Craig

the crew on this ship in Korea, if I remember
correctly, until 1952. Can anyone who remembers him
tell me anything about what it was like serving with
him during the war? What was he like? I never had the
chance to talk to him about it before he died in
February of 2010, and now with only memories, I would
like to know as much I can. Thank you for your time,
thank you for serving, and thank you for caring for
our wounded ones at that time.
