Unit: 8224 ENGINEER CONSTRUCTION GROUP

Comments: My father Robert (Bob) Armstrong was in the 8224th Engineer Construction Group in 1951. I am looking for more information on the 8224th on where they served in Korea in the summer of 1951. If anyone remembers him I would also appreciate hearing from you. My father has passed away. He would not talk about his experience over there. The memories were too painful. The family received bronze stars for his service there years after his death at 77. We have no idea what he received the bronze stars for.

Comments: The ship I was on landed off shore at Inchon. I was hoping to not be stationed at this stinking place. And guess what. I was assigned to the 8224th MP Det, Inchon. First at Wolmi Do Island then the unit moved into town. I was in the 2nd Platoon with guys named: Majors, Boulerice, Pearson, Molnar, Benavidez, Marshall, Williams, Lawson, Poindexter, Ball, Budnichuk, Barber, and many more. My rank when I left was SP4.
