Comments: To those of you who remember Peter M. Maitland
After leaving the Army, 'Pete' returned to the Pacific Northwest & married a wonderful women, 'Donna'. They had 2 children, a boy & a girl
Pete was a successful businessman, devoted husband, father & grandfather
An Intelligent, humble, charming, witty man who always believed in doing 'what was right'
He would always greet you with a smile & ask how you were doing. you were always first
my wife Jean, his daughter, said the Pete never talked about his experiences in Korea, yet each day, they flew the American flag from the front porch of the family home..
In February 2014, with a ray of pacific northwest sunshine shinning through the window, Pete closed his eyes & left our world to enter the everlasting glory of heaven
I am his son in law & it was my honor to have know PETER M. MAITLAND

In the time since Pete has left us, boxes with many pictures of his time in the Army have been found..there are also letters, commendation & service medals.
If you served with Pete & would like to contact us, please feel free to do so, we'd love to hear from you
Tom Stillwell

Comments: I am the director of the California State Military Museum located in Sacramento.

We would like the former members of the 40th ID to know that we have established a archives here at the museum. We are making a major effort to preserved the photos, records, and papers of the members of the division and make them available to historians, researchers, and family members.

The current 40th ID HQ has already transferred all of their photos from WWII, the official 40th Signal Co combat camera set as well as other collections of the Division's history.

If you can get this out to your members, we would appreciate it.

Comments: I am looking for someone in the 740 Ord Maint Co who served in Korea with my late husband, Daniel D. Croy (Gabby) 1950-52. Dan passed away in December 1998 and I have a lot of pictures that he took while in Korea that I have no idea who they are of. I would like someone who served with him to have them. He was in a small detachment maintaining tanks (if I remember correctly).
