I was stationed in Frankfurt, from 56 until 58 at Gibbs. Many fond memories, including
spending a week sleeping in a pup tent while it snowed on the Hungarian border. We were
waiting to see what the Russians were going to do about the revolution. I was in a barricks
across the street from the mess hall.Jane Mansfield visited at the time. Captain Loyd Lee
was CO. Went back with my wife in 81 for a visit. More memories. Did cartoons for the 5th Corp newspaper and special assignments for General Joe Stillwell(deseased, as. I'm push 83 and don't remember many names.Gary Hancock,Calif., and Jim Bristow from Michigan I remember vividly as roommates.

Comments: I was a TOPO soldier from 1966-77 (656th, 66th,
524th, 649th) while serving with the 1/2 ID in 1983 I
went to the 69th to try to bum some maps. I got to
see SFC Ralph Gordon - who I had worked with in the
649th in Germany. He wouldn't give me any maps. This
must have been shortly before they deactivated.
