Service or Relationship: Army Veteran

Comments: See above. Also remember going swimming at the
Engineer's river gravel pit. deep hole; clean water.
Lots of fun.

Keywords: At frst, April, 1951 I worked the night shift at the
QM ration dump down by the harbour, herding Korean
POWs. About June of 1951 was assigned as Chaplain's
Assistant, involing mostly drivin the Chaplain's
jeep. Since I wasn't much of a church person, but was
considered to be honest, was assigned the job of
Company Mail Clerk, where I served out my time from
about October, 1951 until November, 1952. Remember
some faces, but no names. But as mail clerk a lot of
guys should remember me: tall, good natured, good
looking fella with glasses. Well, the girls below the
mess tent wall thought I was good looking enough!
PFC, went by the name of: Johnson. Slept in the
little space at the top of the stairs leading to the
2cd floor zoo.
