Comments: My Dad Served in Korea from Dec 1952 through April-May
1954. He came over on the USNS General C.C. Ballou (T-
AP-157). The ship sailed from Seattle Washington on or
around 29 Nov 1952 and arrived around the 12-16 Dec
1952 into Pusan. He came out of Ft. Hood and his
orders had him assigned to the 81st Recon Battalion.
When he left Korea he came back on the USNS Marine Lynx
(T-AP-194). I think he left on this ship in April or
May of 1954. I have a lot of pictures of guys he
served with in Korea. He just can't remember their
names. I also have the Ballou ship news paper and he
had about 10 or 15 signatures and some home of record
addresses of guys that came over with him.

Comments: I am looking for information on the unit my father was in. He says it was the 42nd Reconnaissance Group. He was there from 52-53. His name is Jesse D. Young, but would have been called Jess. All he has ever said about it was he was in a tank with a flame thrower for a main weapon. I hope someone can help me with info.
