Comments: I am Ralph's daughter. He passed away a few years ago. Would like
to find anyone who served with him in Korea. Anyone with
information on the Silver Star award.

Ralph was from Indiana, was about 6 ft tall. He had fairly
substantial injuries to his legs, but did not lose them.

In later years he had quite an attitude, so not sure if he even had
any friends. He had a habit of going AWOL in the States.
Interesting to find awards next to court marshals.

Keywords: In vicinity of NR/Cherwon, N Korea, 26 Sept 1952. Awarded Purple
Heart and Silver Star.

Comments: I am doing some research for a family member, but have limited information. I have a photograph of a gentleman that went by the name of Pennil, possibly a nickname. I believe his last name was Banks, but unsure. The photograph was dated 1947. He died in either WWII or the Korean war, but am unsure of the date. The only other information I have is a postcard with a picture of the U.S.A.T. Admiral H.T. Mayo, a cargo ship of some sort. The post card is dated October 22, 1947 in Yokohama, Japan. There is record of a William P. Banks as a part of the 2nd Infantry Division, 2nd Replacement Company from Toombs County GA. This is also where Pennil is from. Thought it was worth a try. Any information anyone can provide would be helpful in trying to put together a puzzle. Thanks.

Comments: Anyone heard of a unit 3440 ASU it was a separate detachment unit. He was in the National Guard out of Columbus Georgia but was sent into active duty with the Army out of Phenix City Alabama on Sept 11, 1950. I do not think this is the correct unit number but would love some direction.
It is for my fathers records, Clarence Leo Mills. I have several pictures of him and other military friends. Including one with a guy and a white dog i think his name was George and my father had a white cat. If anyone can help... please let me know something.
