Comments: My father served in the US Army during the Korean War. His dates of service were May 12, 1955-March 22, 1957. I contacted the records department, but my father's service records were destroyed in a fire. I'm just trying to find out any information I can on his service (unit, etc.). He didn't talk much about his service.

Comments: I am an army veteran (12B Combat Engineer) researching some original slides from 1951. The slides come from a Korean War veteran who was a member of the 2nd Infantry Division Band. The slides depict what appears to be some kind of morale support / USO show with men in uniform in the audience and a variety of performers. I am going to have these slides professionally scanned so if anyone out there can give me any information at all about the content of these slides, it would be most appreciated. Location, date, performers, faces recognized in the audience, etc. - anything would be helpful. Shoot me an email and I will send along a few of the images. Thank you!

He was stationed in Japan where he met my mother Chieko. His band was part of an artillery group when he wasn't playing at functions. If anyone recognizes my father or has any photos please contact me. Thomas died in 1955 from cancer. Thanks
