Comments: Looking for information on my dad Anthony "Tony" Joseph Cialone. Dad started as an Infantry man in the Front Line, but the Parts Man got killed during a battle and Dad just 3 months short of high school graduation was assigned the Parts Man's place delivering parts to disabled tank units. Dad "returned to the Front Line during a big push in October of 1951. He lost close friends to enemy fire in that push, including an illiterate soldier who Dad used to read and write letters for."
Please contact me if you have any information on my dad-Anthony Tony Joseph Cialone. Thank-you. Angelina Cialone

Comments: LOST AT YONGDONG is a new book about the 71st (Heavy) Tank Battalion in the Korean War 1950-51. The book also covers some of the battles of the 16th Armored Recon Company as well as the 70th Tank Battalion (which replaced the 71st after they were practically wiped out in combat).

A promotion video for the book is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AxEgOJb8NY

Comments: I am looking for a history of the 16th Recon Company, 1st Cavalry Division. I have heard stories, but would like written documentation to verify those stories. In particular, I once read on-line something to the effect that the 16th recon was disbanded/ absorbed into another company after a particular battle in which it sustained a huge number of casualties. Is this true?

Comments: Hi, my dad (Harrison L. Reigle) served with a man named Ruel A Rogers in the 16th Recon Company, 1st Calvary Division in Korea. We have tried many searches prior but have given up. I decided to look again and found this site. My brother is named after him. I believe last we heard after Korea, he was stationed at Ft Hood, in Texas. Anyone who knows about him, please email me. (my dad doesn't have email or like computers!) Thanks, Ann

Comments: Am looking for any 1st. Calvery solder who was on the beach landing in Korea on July 24,1950.
I was 18 years old at the time and was an able body seaman in the deck dept. on L.S.T. 898 which at the time was run by civilian crews for Military Sea Transportation Services. "M.S.T.S". When we dropped the troops off at 5:30 AM on July 24,1950 we could see and hear fighting in the hills which were out of sight from our beached ship. No one would tell us what Korean parlell we were near and what the mission was. This beach landing was two months before the McAuther Inchon landing operation.
I need to know what area in Korea we were in and if the troops we dropped off survived. We latter were told all the tanks and troops we dropped off was ambushed and killed or taken prisnors. I am looking for a 1st. Calvery solder they called Big Bear because he was from Big Bear Lake California. We became friends and would like to know if he survived the war.
