Ongoing Pledge Drive, keeps us moving along!
Jan, Hal and I wish to once again thank all of you who have been instrumental with memberships and donations to sponsor the Korean War Project.
Over 4,219 line item contributions have been logged since we
became a non-profit in early Feb of 1997. Many of these donations have been from repeat donors!
Members: https://www.koreanwar.org
Sponsors:
Our goal has been to make the KWP a public service, for free, to all who want to research the Korean War. Since so many of our visitors have retirement and health issues that
make donations burdensome, those that are able to assist help more than they know.
A BIG THANK YOU FROM Hal and Ted: for all of the new and renewed Members/Sponsors.

Our longtime friend, Bill Allen, a Korean War Ex-POW has been funding a series of scholarships from the proceeds of his fine book, "My Old Box Of Memories".
"Ted
I will be giving two $1,000 scholarships this year from sales of the book "My Old Box Of Memories". This year's subject was "How did September 11.2001 change your life".
One more year to go then the book will be no more. I am on the last printing. After July 27, 2003, that's it. But I have already started a new project.

By Lynna Kay Shuffield friday@argohouston.com
(Lynna Kay is a retired military person and KWP member. She
also does in-depth work on Texas war veterans genealogical research. Milam County Texas War Dead Project)
Houston, Tex., May 14 One of the top 10-genealogy libraries in the United States, the Clayton Library
Center for Genealogical Research (known as the Clayton Library) of the Houston Public Library (HPL) is in danger and will suffer drastic cutbacks in operating hours beginning July 1, 2002 when the
library will only be open for research for 3-hours, 1-night per week versus the current 4-hours, 3- nights per week.
This will result in the loss of almost 475 evening
research hours per year for the public and library patrons. For many researchers, genealogy is a hobby and most work a full-time job (40-hour per week from 8am-5pm).
Clayton Library patrons who use the library during the evening hours will go from 625-hours of available research hours per year (5pm-9pm, 4-hours, 3-nights per week) to a gross of 155-hours per year
(5pm-8pm, 3-hours, 1-night per week).
She notes that over 72,000 people from around the US visit and work in the library each year.

forward us any information you might have on such reunions.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
