1. Introduction  | 1.75 million hits in May
===============================================

Thanks to all who have corresponded by email and by
entry to the various sections of the site during May.

The Associated Press story and CNN coverage created
a huge amount of work for us to do for the site. We
simply ran out of gas to post our Memorial Day issue
due to the volume of work!

Hits to the site for May were 1.75 million with over
58,000 individual persons visiting the site. (Note:
we were offline for over 5 days total during May due
to our physical move.)

New and renewed Memberships for the period include 101
entries.

One of our sponsors mentioned that we should make
known that not just veterans are eligible, ALL PERSONS
can be members.

2.  Memberships | Sponsorships
===============================================

As always, our Membership Drive really needs your
help. We are still behind in our goal to reach 5000
members.

The Korean War Project is free to all visitors, but our
members keep us online.

If you are not a member, please consider joining. It only
costs $15.00 per year and helps keep the Korean War Project
online.

To become a member, go to:
https://www.koreanwar.org/html/membership.html

Note: those who wish to use online credit card may now do so
thanks to AOL Foundation's Helping.org. Click on the graphic
"Donate now" in the Membership page and follow the form
instructions.

Standard mailing address is the same, see Membership page.

5. DNA Update|Search For Korean War MIA Family DNA
===============================================

Thanks to all who have participated in the recent
mass effort to find the families of those men who
did not come back and for whom DNA samples are
needed from family members.

Two recent identifications have been made. Word
from CILHI and DPMO indicates that more remains have
been recovered and will be sent to Hawaii.

Ask your local media to print the AP story if they
have not done so. Here is the Excite link:

https://news.excite.com/news/ap/010528/09/korean-war-mias

For those of you in the DFW area, no, the Dallas Morning
News did not print anything. NBC Channel 5 did run a
story on the 29th. Luckily, a Dallas writer for the
Associated Press discovered the Finding the Families
project. Many thanks to Jamie Stengle of the AP.

CNN ran the Finding The Families story live after reading
the printed Associated Press story.

6. Memorial Day 2001
===============================================

The PBS show, "Korean War Stories" came across very well.
I noticed several of our pen pals featured on the show.

A job well done is in order for those men and to the
DAV and PBS for the excellent show.

A big "Hat's off" to 7-Eleven, AT&T, The Reserve Officers
Association and the Ntl Moment of Remembrance for the
phone card program they ran on the 28th to give out
over 500,000 free pre-paid calling cards to Vets.
