Project for over six years. It has not been easy! We now have thousands of visitors searching for all types of information.
Our full Membership List is located at:
https://www.koreanwar.org
Our Membership Renewals are located at:

Also see our Roll of Honor for our earliest and top contributors as well as organizations who have supported the web site.
========================================================== 2. Membership Drive ==========================================================
We only need 2886 new Members to reach our goal of 5000,
the number of Members necessary to guarantee the survival of the Korean War Project.
The Finding The Families Project started in May has resulted in hundreds of contacts with family members
and hundreds of DNA samples taken by all military services.
The Korean War Project is free to all visitors, but our members keep us online.
If you are not a member, please consider joining. It only
costs $15.00 per year and helps keep the Korean War Project online.

3. New - Search tool for Members | Sponsors ==========================================================
New: We resorted the list to Alphabetical and added a much
needed search tool for Members to easily find their entry.
Go to: https://www.koreanwar.org
Instructions: type in last name and on following pages click on the names linked in blue.
Note: many of you will find that a Dedication or Tribute is NOT included. If you wish to have something entered do send email to Ted Barker <tbarker@kwp.org> to have it included.
==========================================================
The KWP site and mail server are protected by Norton Anti-Virus that scans all incoming and outbound mail for virus, deletes them and notifies the sender.
If you have been infected by a virus or worm, be sure to visit your vendor's web site to download tools for fixing the problem.
Reformatting a hard drive may be required if the nasty
Code Red Virus has attacked your machine. Prior to doing that, check with your technician or other support system.
McAfee, Norton (Symantec), FPROT, etc all have proven systems to protect.
No matter which anti-virus system you choose, do download the virus updates, daily or weekly at a minimum.
Hope this helps.

===a.=== Children's book in progress
From: "L. Granfield" <gransmil@interlog.com> Fri, 3 Aug 2001
Hello,
I am currently doing research for a children's book about the Korean War.
The planned book will feature personal stories of the war told by the veterans themselves. I would like to include men
and women from diverse backgrounds, states, and experiences (medical, supply, etc, not just combat stories).
Is there a way you can spread the word to those veterans you
know who may be interested? Please give them my e-mail address if they would like to share their stories so the Korean War will not be The Forgotten War among our youth.
Many thanks, Linda Granfield
===b.=== The 4th Fighter Wing in the Korean War by Larry Davis
Email Order: SabreClsx@aol.com (more info soon)
Alert: from D.F. Jacobson
I don't know if I mentioned it before , but there's a new
book out by Larry Davis called " The 4th Fighter Wing in the Korean War". This is an "excellent" book, and info can be had from Larry at SabreClsx@aol.com.
===c.=== Korean Atrocity! Forgotten War Crimes 1950-53 by PHILIP D. CHINNERY
ISBN: 1-55750-473-3 US Naval Institute Press
See: Bookstore page and thanks to the Naval Institute Press for our review copy!
Ed Slater <eslaate@hotmail.com> (21IR and former POW) reviews:
excerpt -- I was reading the news letter on my computer and noticed that you apparently have not heard ,or know nothing about a new book on the market called KOREAN ATROCITY by (AUTHOR PHILIP D. CHINNERY)
This book was published in England last year, and then in the states this year. This book has some horrific facts and is hard to read for a lot of us. I think it should be brought
to the attention of the Korean War Veterans.
Thank you,
Ed Slater
(Ed is a survivor of the Sunchon Tunnel Massacre)

8. Korean War Service Lapel Pin - Get one! ==========================================================
Heads up from:
Daniel A. Cretaro Sergeant Major, USA (Ret)
Company D, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division
Excerpt from message:
This pin apparently was produced through the Department of Defense 50th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemorative
Committee. I had not read or heard about this Pin previously, so I contacted my Congressman's local office and I was informed that each Congressman was afforded the opportunity to obtain a supply of these pins for
issuance to veterans in their District.
The Pin is very distinctive, Looks great. I think every veteran of the Korean War will be pleased to receive one of
these Pins I would like to quote in part from the letter from my Congressman: "It will never be possible for Americans to fully repay those who sacrificed so much in the
Korean War. However, it is the responsibility of present and future generations to preserve the history of what actually happened in that long and difficult struggle.
Please know that I will continue my efforts in the United States Congress."
