1. DNA Update|Search For Korean War MIA Family DNA
===============================================

Several more cases where DNA samples were needed for
adding to the DPMO | CILHI data files have been resolved
during the month of April. Thanks to all of you who have
been finding the families to provide the DNA samples.

These samples are added to the CILHI inventory to match
against current remains of Korean War Veterans and for
the future remains to be found in both South and North
Korea.

Hal and I will be updating our files to reflect the DNA
samples as we go.

In the next few days we will complete our preparation
to identify counties of residence of the 6000 plus
servicemen for whom DNA samples are needed from families.

This is our new operation called Finding The Families:
The Search For Korean War MIA Family DNA. We are
looking forward to kicking off this Project for the
month of May with a special target date of May 15 in
preparation for Memorial Day..

(The KWP first featured this great bunch in Dec 2000)

Subject: THE KITCHEN TABLE GANG

We are having trouble getting the word out about
the Kitchen Table Gang and its project of providing
a little "R & R" to hospitalized veterans.

We don't have bulk email facilities nor would we want
it, we depend on a grass-roots effort to get the word
out about us. To this end, I would greatly appreciate
it if you would visit our web site.

We just wanted to tell you about our project to
assist our military veterans with something to pass
the time away while they are in a VA hospital.

If you were ever wounded or had an illness and spent
some time recovering in a VA or military medical
facility, then you know of what we speak. Please visit
our new web site at:

5. Air Force Museum - Korea Display
===============================================

I am a volunteer at the USAF Museum here in Dayton.
Last June (2000) we opened a new display recognizing
the Air Force in Korea.

It is a great display, with videos and many pictures.
We have had many korean military units, army and air force
hold their reunions here in Dayton at the museum.

The museum is free, open 9-5 every day except thanksgiving,
Christmas, and New Years Day. The museum has a staff who
will work with any unit wanting to have a reunion here.

If anybody is interested have them contact me and I will
give them the name of the office that does a great job
setting these events up. Last year we had about 200
reunions.
