Battery A 15th Field Artillery Bn.

Becoming a sponser and do all I can to find someone who remembers my
brother and end a nightmare.

Cpl Donald W Gately RA12348217, 2nd div 15th field artillery battery A
mia 2/13/51 and taken as pow around massive battles in the area of
hoengsong and wonju officially listed as dead of malnutrion in may
1951 possibly in camp #1

Govt said he was taken Bean Camp and then to the mining camp enroute to
pow camp #1 on yalu river. A report says that other pow's have said he
died somewhere between *Suan to Kangdong to Changsong*. Another
version said he died in may 1951 in camp #1, yet his name was on a
repatriation list and withdrawn during operation bigswitch in 1953.

thanks for any help.

subject: POW/MIA Info 15th Artillery BN 2nd Inf Div.

Hello, I am looking for information on my Uncle Richard H. Wagner
Korean War.

Little that I know of him he was listed M.I.A. P.O.W.M.I.A.His Unit #
was 2nd Infantry Division Artillary Battalion (105MM) Died while
captured. U.S. Army Sgt. The only information we were told was he was
guarding a road or post and was over come by the Chinese. I have read
the George Matta story and it sounds very much like the same
situation.

CAPTURED FEB.13 1951 RTE.2 IMGIN RIVER VALLEY. U.S. ARMY LISTS HIM DIED
IN CAPTIVITY MAY 31 1951. PRIOR TO REACHING SUAN BEAN CAMP. PASSING
NORTH THRU 2 OR 3 HOLDING POINTS . AT THAT POINT IN TIME THE CHINESE
WERE SETTING UP THE MINING, BEAN CAMPS. IN THE DPMO REPORT 2 P.O.W.'S
WERE DEBRIEFED IN 1953. THAT APPARENTLY MENTIONED HIM BY NAME.ANY
INFORMATION YOU CAN HELP ME WITH WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. HE WAS
MY UNCLE THAT I WAS NAMED AFTER.

I'm looking for any info on the death of Maj S J Stevens. Last known
to be prisoner of war Bean Camp. No acknowledgement by N Korean's or
Chinese as a POW. Known to have been alive in Feb 51. I been waiting
for near fifty years for closure. Would greatly appreciate any info.

My mother has a letter of 1st Lt. Wilbur Webster cofirming his presence
at the camp. Lt Webster later escaped. It was also later confirmed
by another prisoner (which my aunt has copy) that he was sick, probably
with dysentery. He evidentally made a roll call one night, but was not
present the next morning. Due to lack of medical facilities we believe
he died.

Thank you ahead of time.

(note from KWP) Vince Krepps has given John a long msg regarding the
Capt(Major) and his role in unit actions up to Kunu ri
