The Rooks a Newport based destroyer left Newport RI September 1952
for a world cruise and a tour of duty with Task Force 77 off the Korean
Coast..We partoled the East coast off YANG-DO and one Daylight Mission
into SONJIN to damage rail yards. We returned via the Suez canal to
Newport April 1953.
The other ships in our Sqardon were the MILLER (535) Hancock, Hailey
and The Rooks all desron 20..I guess this action is all but forgotten by
the American Public.
Thanks for the Info and do appreciate your caring..
