Comments: I joined VMA-212 in mid 1955 and left in mid 1957. I was a member of the finest Ordnance shop in Marine Corps Aviation. During the month of May 1956 our squadron flew 4,276.2 hours with AD aircraft. No one in the history of aviation has ever beaten that record. I would like to reach other Marines that served during that time.

Comments: This A/C is in pieces at the El Cajon branch of the San Diego Aerospace Museum. I seek service history of this A/C, the name(s) of those who flew it, and names of those who may have serviced it. I was told by museum personnel that restoration of this A/C will soon begin.

Respectfully,

Greg Anderson

Comments: I was in VMA 212 Ordnance at K-18 then K-6 during the time period Apr '52 to Feb '53. There were many long days, and at times it was hard work lifting those bombs and rockets onto the Corsairs. But, we usually had some time for fun too - cards, dominos, volleyball, snow-ball fights, and "shooting the bull". We all took pride in our jobs, doing our part so the squadron could accomplish its mission.
