Comments: Ronald J. Russell, according to my memory of what little he told me, served in the military police in Korea, and at some point, was a drill instructor at Parris Island. Born Aug 11, 1933, (he may have lied about his age to enlist) in the Bronx, NY and died Jan 1985, Scranton,PA, age 51 of MS. I have forgotten much that he told me and want to give our children a better picture of him. I met him quite a while after his service. I think he received a purple heart. He may have been quarterback on a football team while in the service. Thank you for any help you can give.

Comments: HONOR CLEAN is a new book about the Korean War--It is dedicated to all the men and boys of the Silent Generation, who gave of themselves so South Korea could be free. This is their story. It focuses on Marines of the 1st Division during 1951, but chronicles the entire war in nutshell. This is how it was, told by those who were there. Not the brutal baby killers recently portrayed by the Associated Press, and no phony poetic lyricism either. A memory for vets of the war, in memoriam for the dead. And a must read for a nation which contemplates doing it again, yet knows little about the human meat grinder that the first one was. Heed the past or repeat it...is the message for today. HONOR CLEAN can be previewed at web bookstores like Amazon and Barnes&Noble. Type title, then click cover for further details about book and author, a veteran Marine who served in the Land of the Morning Calm when it was turned into a graveyard.

MARINE CORPS RESEARCH
I found out how to get a Co Roster for any year and month. I faxed
Marine Corps research requesting the roster for F-2-7 07/53. I gave
them the required Name,Rank and serial number,30 days later I had the
Roster. It shows the "living and the KIA's" as of 07/31/53.
These numbers did not include the wounded that were not evacuated and treated on line.
For your info this is the fax number to request the Roster:
