LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON GRANDPA'S DIVISION |
SAMMI BRANDT wrote on August 15, 2010 City and State: KS Unit: UNKNOWN Service or Relationship: AIR FORCE VETERAN Comments: Hi, My name is Sam, and I'm looking for anyone who may have possibly known my Grandfather, Thomas J. Sledge, of Omaha Nebraska. He served in Korea sometime between 1951 (most likely 52) and 1955 and was known by his friends as "Sluggo." He always talked of his stay at the Kimpo Air Base, and has a few pictures of him in front of quonset huts as well. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2008, and the files regarding any information associated with his service were destroyed in a fire in St. Louis in the 70s, in which many other military archives were also destroyed. If anyone out there knows or knew him during his stay at Kimpo, please email me at pink_rain09@hotmail.com. We would love to know what rank, unit, and division he was in, or simply catch up with those who may have known him. Thank you so much, Sam Keywords: Thomas J. Sledge Kimpo Air Base 1952-1954? |
