'FOUR-DEUCE' |
| ROBERT LEIBOLD wrote on April 13, 2003 CITY AND STATE: AR UNIT: 2/7, LSTMARDIV., '74-'75 SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: - Comments: My father was a Company Corpsman with G 3/7 between '51-'52, and he frequently spoke with an unabashed fondness for the "Four-Deuce," or 4.2" mortar. While a Corpsman with 2/7 in the '70's, at Camp Pendleton, I had the opportunity to fire both the 60- and 81mm mortar, but never once saw a 4.2. Now, very recently, a Marine-pal who was with lstMarDiv., in Vietnam, has asked me to try and gather dope on the 4.2, and I'm not sure just where to turn. Can anyone out there lend me a hand?
