Comments: I am looking to correspond with any former members or coaches of the PI. football team of 1956. Most of them probably would rather forget the season, as it was winless. It was the low point of my life and hardly a day goes by that I do not remember it. Fortunately I went onto better things including another chance at football. Dwight Ash PT.

Comments: I am the daughter inquiring of others who served with my father. My father has CML (chronic myelogenous leukemia) severely at this time. The VA does not seem to substantiate that this is a cancerous disease that can (50%) be a latent cancer, as it is in my father - from radiation residue/residual fall out, etc. I also have an uncle (daddy's brother) who also has a leukemic disease and served in the Korean War at the same time.

If someone can help me, my prayers for you and yours will forever be with HIM.

Honestly, I am looking for someone to come forward and substantiate their presence around my father! Isn't there any one that is still on this earth?! My thanks and sincerity, Alfreda Doonkeen Woodward (daughter)

Comments: A very close friend, Benedict Daniel (Danny) Fix, was a navy corpsman assigned to the 1st Bn, 7th. Marines during the Nov/Dec retreat from Chosin Resevoir in 1950. He awakened in the Army Hospital at Osaka Japan on 12/05/50 where he was hospitalized until 1952. Was then transferred to a VA hospital in Los Angeles where he was released in 1954. All remaining records were lost in the 1973 fire, and he has never received a DD214. He has no computer but needs help locating old buddies and reconstructing his military records. Please contact me if you can provide any assistance. Dan Buck, Redondo Beach, CA.

or at "peace" time. Thank God all came back home in one piece.

My father joined at age 17 in 1947 and retired in 1956. He was in the
1st Div, 7th reg. artillery. I know that he went over on the General
Meegs once then back over on the General Pope transport ship. 1st stop
was Kobe Japan.

I believe after 2 "tours" he was later stationed at 3rd H&S ?? where he
played football, basketball and diver for the Corp.
