Comments: My husband Gerard A Winkel was in Korea 7 months before he was WIA 7 Oct. 1952 for which he received the Purple Heart.

Many years later he was diagnosed with Post Traumatic War Syndrome...which he has struggled since Korea...

He is from Pgh,Pa. I don't know if anyone was left from the ambush or not.

Anyone out there who was in I Company?

Thanks Pege

Comments: My interest in the 1st Marines is to find anyone who knew my uncle, David Ray Bickley, who was killed in Korea in November, 1950.

I found his name in the casualties, the first record I've seen of his service other than family records.

The family knows no particulars of his death or the actions in which he was engaged at the time. Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you for creating this site.

Comments: Haven't been at your site for a while gentlemen but certainly have enjoyed this visit. You have been busy, to say the least. Love it!

Have been looking for info on my "bracelet" name of Louis Valenciano and seeing all this at your site, is absolutely wonderful. I love the picture of the "Monument" as part of the history. I am wondering tho, what the A1 describes as "Type of Casualty".... I could not find that designation anywhere.

Thanks again Barkers, for the wonderful job you're doing in keeping the Korean War memories alive for our folks who gave of themselves......

Sincerely, M. LaR
