Comments: Nov 2000 Dear Sirs,
Birthday greetings for your 225th anniversary. I do not know if the occasion will be as elaborate as fireworks at your home, or merely a raised glass, but I hope the day finds you happy and healthy. Please excuse my reliance on a much better writer than myself, but I was thinking of Lincolns dedication at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania when he says that the brave men, living and dead, have consecrated the field far above our poor power to add or detract. I too feel inadequate expressing my gratitude and admiration for those engaged above the 38th parallel, this autumn, fifty years ago. And beggar that I am, I am even poor in thanks, but I thank you. I wish my friend, Charlie Durant (F/2/5) and his lovely wife, Barb were still with us but I wanted to remember their generosity and his participation. Although Charlie never said anything to me about Korea; I cant help but think if I had asked, he would have paused from enjoying his strawberry daiquai and said something like, It was damn cold, and probably left it at that. I remain - Your humble servant, Rob Radoslovich P O Box 72 Chadds Ford, Pa 19317

Comments: Semper Fi Marines! I saw these names on the BB and as a former member of D/2/5 in Korea I had to respond. I arrived during Operation Killer, was assigned to lst Sqd, 2d plt, under Sgt. James Renshaw. Red bearded Capt. Smith was the CO Cdr, Gy Sgt Fristock was the Comp. Gunny (KIA-7Jun51; Navy Cross ),( my Plt Sgt was named Bauer (I think). There was also a Sgt Beeson We had several small firefights until 22 April when the brown hit the fan on the 2d Chinese Offensive, then the race out of the trap, the return fight through Hwachon Resv, into Inje and the stand down on the Banks of the lovely Soyang-gang. Followed by the attacks into the Punchbowl, Hill 812, (Lukes Castle) the "first ever" heliocopter lift on #882, and 2nd Korean winter. The unending 6x6 ride shift to the West Coast and for me in Aril of '52, I was outtathere! Hope I have rung some bells? Hope to hear from anyone. My good friend Clifford D. Colby who went to Easy Co. when we got off the ship has told me about some great re-unions in E/2/5 and I am kinda envious we don't seem to have a D/2/5 reunion. Colby and I stayed pretty close after Korea, and spent two yrs at Mare Island, CA together. Both of us stayed in for career Marines. Have alson been in contact with Jack Kindig, (Silver Star) my old sqd ldr, and On my second tour in Vietnam, as Captain, I had the profound privilege of becoming the Co Cdr of Co. D., 5th Marines. The structural changes from three company battalions to four moved Co. D into the ist Bn, but what the hell, Co. D is still Dog Company to me.

Comments: hello gentleman, I was looking for information on the Korean War and was directed here, I hope I am not a nuisance. I read a little about the war and all Marines have been taught about the brave men who fought a war that our nation swept under the rug. I would like to send out my thanks and that of all young Marines, to all of you vetrans who set the example for all the rest of us to follow. My uncle was also in Korea, but im afraid I do not know with what unit. I hope to never have to go into combat, but if our Corps is once again called to help the country, I can only hope to answer it half as well as you men did. Again thank you for making all of us proud to wear the eagle, globe and anchor. semper fi

Comments: I am serching, for my father,Charles Beeson, anyone who may remember him and served with him. My father tells many stories of his time in Korea, especially his time around a place he refers to as "Lukes Castle." Must have been one unbelievable time. I am proud that my father served, and was able to come home. I can remember as a young girl seeing a brightly colored red rash on my father's back, and very dry- peeling feet...he used to tell me that he got "the jungle rot while in Korea." Anyway, my point of this letter is to find anyone who may remember him.
My father, Charles R. Beeson, would like for me to try and locate a man by the name Ivan Beeson. Ivan Beeson served with my dad in D/2/5. My father says that Ivan was shipped out of Korea before him. Also, dad says that this Ivan Beeson, he believes, is from Washington State. If you are out there Ivan, please let me know, so that I may let my dad know!
Just email me,then I will be in touch with dad... he still hasnt gotten a computer! Gdabout@aol.com

Comments: My father served in Korea as a Sergeant. He died when I was 8. I have his war medals and pictures. I am looking for people who knew him, Gil Keeler. Since he died when I was very young, I didn't get a very good chance to get to know him. Hoping that someone out there knew him and could share any stories with me. Thank you.
